Billy Dreher Island is Lake
Murray's only State Park, and consists of 348 acres and 12 miles of shoreline.

Go west from Chapin on US-76

Not really an island, this
is a peninsula at the north end of Brady Port Rd. There are several dirt
roads and hiking trails, plus a sandy beach. This is a very popular place
for boaters.

No public restrooms available, no parking available (accessible only by
boat or bike)

Follow US #378 west out
of Lexington. Turn right 2.0 miles beyond where US #1 and US #378 split
and go north on Wise Ferry Road 0.8 miles. Turn left and follow Old Cherokee
Road 2.3 miles northwest. Turn right onto Brady Porth Road, which leads
up to the gate. No parking is available. |
